Abstract

Deaf children are children who have problems with their hearing system either as a whole or still have some residual hearing. So the impact experienced by deaf children is of course very influential on the development of their communication language or delays in conveying and receiving a message or information, so they need a special service to improve their language and communication.This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research and sampling using a purposive method. Data collection uses interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Data validity uses source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. While the analysis used is in accordance with the Milles and Hubermen models including data collection, data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing/verification.The results of this study which include individual counseling services with image media for deaf children are that there are three stages, namely the initial stage is building a close relationship between the counselor and the counselee, assessment, and assessment and planning for alleviating the counselee's problems. The implementation stage is the implementation of the counselor's plan in alleviating the counselee's problem with an image media related to the problems of deaf children that occur. The evaluation stage is correcting and assisting the counselee. The success of this service is that there is a significant change in the attitude of deaf children including the change in behavior in a more positive direction and their easy understanding of messages conveyed through the media of images
